To be healthy, the body needs adequate food intake. That is why it is important to eat well every day. So how can you eat healthily every day? Here are some tips on how to eat healthily every day.
Eat 3 to 4 times a day
The body needs to be supplied with food at least 3 times a day to provide the energy it needs to function properly. The ideal diet is to have breakfast, lunch and dinner to finish. But you can also decide to have a snack if you wish. Note that each of your meals must respect a precise energy intake. So for breakfast, the energy intake should be between 20 and 25%; lunch should be between 40 and 45%; dinner between 25 and 30% and the afternoon snack between 15 and 20%.
Eating a balanced and varied diet
For a meal to be balanced, it must be made up of vegetables, starchy foods, vegetable or animal proteins and cereals. All of these should be in equal parts except for protein. The latter should normally be lower in order to provide the body with the energy it needs. Your diet should also be varied. That is why you should think about eating a little of everything, within the norm of course.
Eating at home
Home cooking is a plus in the quest for a healthy diet. It allows you to know exactly what’s on your plate. What’s more, you can add whatever you like. You can even opt for healthy cooking by steaming and using less fat.
Limit sugar and salt in your cooking
Sugar and salt are the main causes of high blood pressure and diabetes in young people and adults. It is therefore advisable to consume 5g per day of each for adults and 2g for children.
Drink plenty of water
Water is a rapidly digestible food. It quickly rids the body of various waste products by being evacuated through the urine. It is advisable to drink at least 1.5 litres of water per day.
